INTRODUCTION



The Annual PAASE Meeting and Symposium (APAMS) is a multi-disciplinary conference of Filipino and Philippine-American scientists and engineers. It has been an annual activity of the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE), continuously attracting the participation of researchers of different levels of experience and from varied fields of studies, since it started in 1980. APAMS 2022 is being hosted by the University of Santo Tomas (Manila) through the collaboration of its academic and research units in the sciences and engineering.





DATE & VENUE



APAMS 2022 will be held online from 11-14, October 2022 via ZOOM platform.





CONFERENCE THEME



APAMS 2022 focuses on the theme “Engaging Next Generation Science and Engineering”. Through this theme, PAASE ushers the youth into an active and innovative involvement in different fields of science and engineering.



CONFERENCE GOALS



APAMS 2022 aims to strengthen the continuing interaction between Filipino and Filipino-American scientists and engineers at various stages of their research career. It presents a venue for the sharing of knowledge and experience enhancing S&T research being done in the country. It offers an opportunity for the establishment of research linkages among the participants and encourage a more active atmosphere for the development of a broader research community in the country.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS



All submissions should be in English and will undergo a peer-review evaluation on the originality of the work, scientific soundness, completeness, and accuracy, coherence of the content, and compliance with the format. Download the APAMS 2022 Abstract Template. Adhere to the formatting instructions in the provided template. Save your abstract as PDF using this file name format: REC (Research Expertise Cluster) Number_Surname_Type of Presentation (e.g. REC 5_Sevilla_Oral)

Upload your abstract in the Submit Abstract portal. Please follow the specific guidelines in preparing the abstract in the example. The abstract will be uploaded in the Abstract Submission repository with the file name format: REC (Research Expertise Cluster) Number_Surname_Type of Presentation (e.g. REC 5_Sevilla_Oral).

Technical Papers Committee reserves the right to reassign papers if necessary.

The submission for a paper presentation does not automatically indicate the registration of a participant. The presenting author must be officially registered. Paper contributions (oral or poster) for the 2022 Annual PAASE Meeting & Symposium are accepted until September 10, 2022.

PROGRAM



APAMS 2022 will involve limited in-person plenary sessions and on-line parallel sessions. Parallel sessions will be organized for each specialized research area. Virtual poster presentations will also be organized.
